SMALL TOWN, BIG HAIR.

 I’ve been drawn to work in fashion since I was a little boy wearing my mama’s heels around the house and trying to steal her Vogue out her beauty room. I dreamed of being the person to create those beautiful images I saw in the magazines. Being an artist was in my blood, I just never imagined I'd go from cutting scene hair cuts in high school to a six-figure artist.

I grew up in the Gulfshores area where I developed my talent in photography. I was obsessed with portraiture which lead me to pursue my degree in the fine arts. In my small town, the only photography making the kind of money I wanted to make was wedding photography and that just wasn’t my gig. So I decided to go to school for cosmetology. It was at the Aveda Institute in Birmingham that I discovered my talent and calling to do hair. I started getting involved with social media and saw an amazing opportunity to build an online portfolio that would attract clients and brands to work with me. I dedicated time to document my work via photography, and in doing so, found a way to also return to my love for creating beautiful images.

Fast-forward six years and I’d like to think that I’ve accomplished a lot. I like to credit much of my success to putting myself out there and chasing every opportunity. Three years ago, I opened my own salon with the hopes of bringing a safe place for people of all walks-of-life in my conservative town. Little did I know I’d be later fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though I was scared my business would fail, I fought to see us through. Since I started doing hair I’ve been nominated for a BTC Oneshot Award, tested products, served as an educator for an international brand, hired on as an influencer for an amazing new company, worked on countless photo shoots and shows like NY Fashion Week, The Blonds, L’Agence, Alexander Wang, Joshua Kane, and many more. This is only the beginning! I want use my talent of make people look like super-stars so everyone can feel like a celebrity. ✨
